Welsh Liberal Democrats in the area have recently had discussions with residents of Gwenos, Llys Gwernen and Heol Gwernen, who all felt that the problem was having a considerable impact on their lives. Mr Black has now written to the police asking them to focus on the issue and attempt to stop those behind the problem.
"The area is home to a large number of people living in supported accommodation." said Mr Black. "Many are elderly and they do not want or need the additional stress of noise coming from motorcycles and shouting coming from youths using the fields. I have had extensive correspondence on the issue and despite my efforts the situation does not seem to be improving. The police must take action."
"I would like to see better facilities for young people in Morriston. The problem is not that these are necessarily 'troublemakers', but that they have no-where else to go or anything else to do. Investment in facilities for young people will actually save money in the long term through allowing the police to focus on more serious crimes instead."
